Introduction Chapter 03 – summary of Thank you, M‟am for FA, FSC 1st Year

The story is about the encounter of Roger and Mrs. Luella Bates Washington JonesRoger, who is a teenage boy, and Mrs. Luella Bates Washington Jones, who is an older woman. The woman was walking through the street towards her house when a teenage boy tried to snatch her purse. He pushed her to snatch the purse but her huge weight repels him. He lays down and his legs fly up. The old woman catches him from his shirt and drags him through the street. She asks him if he feels shame. She asks him why he does such an act? He says her that he wants to buy blue suede shoes. When they arrive at home. She remains open the door. She asks him to wash the face first. The boy looks at the door, either he should run away or wash his face. He prefers to wash the face. When he comes back, she asks him that he should ask for help from someone. She tells him her story when she wants at his age. She was short of money. She did not choose the wrong way to get money. She worked hard for getting money. She advises him to work hard for survival. After taking supper, she gives him ten dollars and asks for leave. The boy takes it and thanks to her for behaving well. The story tells that if someone needs money and he has no means of that, he should not choose the wrong means. By choosing the wrong way means you are destroying yourself. Because you will get happiness for a small time. But its effect is long. In the story, the boy chooses the wrong way of getting money. If he chooses the right way like getting help from others, he will be rewarded a lot. There is another lesson for us that the upper standard people should find and help the poor. In this way, no one will choose the wrong way like Roger chooses to get blue suede shoes. It is our duty to help them because most people prefer to die than begging.
