Ans. They tried everything to prevent them from their farms. the cook boy ran to beat the old ploughshare hanging from a tree branch which was used to call the other farmers for help. Others were collecting tins to use for preventing the farms. All the farmers were burning fires all around the fields. After burning the fires they threw wet leaves to make the smoke black and acrid.
Q.#2. Why had the men after the crops were destroyed, continued to fight against locusts?
Ans. All the farmers were still fighting against the locusts they were full of eggs. They thought they were settling their place here. If they laid eggs there, then their crops would finish forever. They were very dangerous because they're increasing by millions of locusts after two or three years. So, they were fighting against them.
Q.#3. What was the condition of the land after the attack of the locusts?
Ans. The land was very bad after their attack on the land. There was no sign of grass on the land. They had eaten all the crops and left nothing for them. The whole land had been given a devastated landscape. They were praying for held to God for mercy on them. So that their lives would become normal again.
Q.#4. Give any four suggestions that the farmers should apply to prevent their crops from locusts?
- The farmers should have equality among themselves so that they may solve any problem with unity.
- They should be fair in their works so that they may face any natural disaster with a happy face.
- They should take some collective efforts so that they may get rid of such disasters.
- They should always have some precautionary things and be ready to face such disasters.
