Introduction Chapter 09 – Summary of The foolish Quack for FA, FSC 1st Year

In this story, the writer, Juana Ines de la Cruz, discusses the foolish act of a wrong person who pretends himself as a doctor. The story opens with a foolish quack who visits a village where he sees a camel who has struck a water Mellon in his throat. The owner of the camel uses a hammer to cure the camel. He hits the throat of the camel with a heavy hit. The watermelon tears into his throat and the camel easily swallows it. The foolish man discovers the treatment and claims himself as a doctor. There is an old lady who has guilty into her throat. He claims that he will cure her throat easily. He hits her throat with a hammer. She dyes on the spot with a heavy hit of the hammer. The villagers beat him heavily. As the punishment, they bound him to dig her grave. After digging her grave, he comes to the owner of the camel. He asks him about the cure. The owner says to him that he should make difference between animals and humans. Then the foolish man feels guilty. The moral lesson of the story is that we should be loyal to women. They are physically weak and thin. A little hit will destroy their life. In the case of the old lady, the treatment should be done according to the lady, not the animal. Most of the men have wrong feelings regarding women. They consider them as their slaves. But actually, they are part of their lives. Without women, life is nothing.
