Daffodils

 Summary

In this poem the writer, William Wordsworth expresses his views about the nature and the human. This poem is not about self-feelings but it is the actual visualization. The poet starts the poem by his feeling as loneliness walking as a lonely cloud. He symbolizes it because of the death of his beloved one. He is thinking about someone while walking alone. He saw the daffodils which were very large in amount. They were beside the lake and fluttering in the breeze. They were continuously shinning like the stars shine in the Milky Way. We cannot count them because of their large amount. The writer gets amused when he sees them in large amount. He at once forgets about his sorrow. This sight of beautiful daffodils give his pleasure that he could not take off his eyes from them. The theme of the story is very simple. The writer conveys the beauty of nature through this poem. He says that the nature is very beautiful and charming. The memory of the daffodils amuses him and makes him happy when he is alone, bored. Moreover, the characterization of the surprising happening of a memory the daffodils “flash upon the inward eye”, which is “the bliss of solitude” is psychologically acute, but the poem’s main theme lies in the reverse personification of its initial stanzas.
