 In this story, the writer, Doric Lessing, discusses natural disasters. It is about the conflict between man and nature. Man does not face natural disasters. The force of natural disasters is so strong that nobody can face or defeat them. In this lesson, the people f the village tries their best to prevent their crops from the attack of the locusts. They tried many things to prevent them. They had burnt the fires to make cloud smoke. They beat the tin cans to make noise. But all in vain. After all the crops being destroyed, they felt helpless. Still, they did not lose heart and felt calm. They experienced what they saw. The moral lesson of the story is that it is through the deeds that the Lord gives us punishment in the form of natural disasters. If natural disasters come, it destroys everything. If we should look at our deeds, we will find ourselves guilty of natural disasters. This story is an example of such disasters. If we believe in God, we will lead a happy life. Otherwise, we will face disasters every day in our lives.
